ATLANTIC OCEAN (Sept. 15, 2018) Damage Controlman 3rd Class Andrea Hribar stows gear in a repair locker in the hangar bay aboard the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72). Abraham Lincoln is underway in the Atlantic Ocean after Commander, U.S. Fleet Forces Command ordered all U.S. Navy ships in the Hampton Roads area to sortie on Sept. 10, ahead of Hurricane Florence, a storm that brought high winds and rain to the Mid-Atlantic coast. Beginning today, Abraham Lincoln will join the nearly 30 ships and 128 aircraft that are beginning the return transit to the Hampton Roads area. Three MH-60S Sea Hawk helicopters departed Abraham Lincoln for Norfolk this morning to be better postured to provide land-based rotary wing Defense of Civil Authorities if required.
