U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Aetos Taiyang, left, and Lance Cpl. Taiyang and Dye were awarded the medals by Lt. Gen. Eric M. Smith, commanding general of III Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF), for their efforts in creating a postal notification system that streamlines the way air station residents receive mail. Smith visited MCAS Iwakuni for the first time as the III MEF commanding general. The site visit involved a tour of bachelor enlisted quarters, lunch with non-commissioned officers and junior Marines and visits to other various sites throughout the air station.
