U.S. Army 1st Lt. Jonatan Caballero, with Tripler Army Medical Center (TAMC), and a Miami, Florida native, completes his emergency medical lane for a chance to earn the Expert Field Medical Badge (EFMB) at Schofield Barracks, Sept. 19.2018. The event was hosted by 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division. To qualify for the EFMB, Soldiers are tested in multiple areas including litter obstacle courses, emergency medical treatment, survival skills in a Chemical, Biological, Radioactive and Nuclear environment, CPR, Medevac, and a timed 12-mile road march.
This is Caballero’s third try at earning the EFMB. “I lead by example,” said Caballero. “I can’t push my Soldiers to be the best if I don’t push myself.”
