Cpl. Elija Thomas checks the security of tie down chains for the aircrafts as preventative maintenance aboard the USS Iwo Jima, Oct. 7. Preventative maintenance is conducted to sustain optimal operation for the aircrafts participating in Exercise Trident Juncture 18. Trident Juncture is a NATO led exercise in which the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit and the Air Combat Element will play a pivotal role as a sea-based MAGTF.
