Marines gather for food at Phelps Chow Hall, aboard Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center, Twentynine Palms, Calif., Oct. 11, 2018. The local chow halls aboard the Combat Center provided steak and lobster entrees to all personnel to celebrate the U.S. Navy’s 243rd birthday. Founded on Oct. 13, 1775, the Continental Navy was created by Congress to defend and protect American coastal communities and colonies from British attacks, and to disrupt British communications.
