NOSC Phoenix Celebrates the Navy's 243rd Birthday

Commander Justin Collins, Commanding Officer of Naval Operational Support Center (NOSC) Phoenix, presents an official command challenge coin to a visiting member of the U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps Phoenix Division. The cadets were on-board NOSC Phoenix to participate in the celebration of the Navy’s 243rd birthday. The celebration included cutting of the ceremonial cake and a video from the Chief of Naval Operations John Richardson and Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy Russell Smith. The U.S. Navy traces its origins to the Continental Navy, established during the War of Independence by the Continental Congress on October 13, 1775.
