DAHLGREN, Va. (Oct. 12, 2018) - Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) military personnel are pictured in front of a World War I bombsight - used to conduct testing at the Dahlgren Naval Proving Ground in the 1920s and 1930s - during a celebration of the Navy's 243rd birthday. The aircraft course-setting bombsight is one of the few surviving examples of the many bombsights tested at Dahlgren. NSWCDD will celebrate 100 years of cutting-edge technological innovation in support of the warfighter at a centennial grand finale Oct. 19 that includes an exhibition tent, a U.S. Navy Band performance, and historic tours featuring six station stops on base. Front row, left to right, are Lt. Cmdr Michael Tozzi, Lt. Adam Mattison, Chief Cryptologic Technician (Technical) Joshua Schroeder, Lt. Akwasi Fosu, and Cmdr. Steven Perchalski. Back row, left to right, are Fire Controlman (Aegis) 1st Class James Flett, Lt. Cmdr. Thomas Pilkerton, Lt. Cmdr. David Rackley, British Royal Navy Lt. Cmdr. Richard Bowen, and Chief Warrant Officer (CWO2) Jason Tillman. (U.S. Navy photo/Released)
