ROTA, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (Oct. 21, 2018) Construction Electrician 1st Class Brenton Shepherd, from Huntington, W. Va., and Builder 2nd Class Alex Montgomery, from Houston, both assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 1, detachment Guam, speak with homeowner Virginia DeJesus before conducting reconstruction on DeJesus' roof that was damaged by Typhoon Mangkhut. NMCB 1, detachment Guam, assigned to Commander, Task Force 75, is conducting Defense Support to Civil Authorities with the Commonwealth Advocates for Recovery Efforts, CNMI and the Federal Emergency Management Agency in rebuilding roofs for homes during disaster relief operations in Rota, Tinian and Saipan after Typhoon Mangkhut hit in early September.
