Sgt. Francisco Raatz, right, visits with Spc. John Chase, Sept. 29, just days after Raatz donated one of his kidneys to Chase during a transplant surgery at Sanford Hospital, Fargo, N.D. Both men are members of the 1st Battalion, 188th Air Defense Artillery Regiment. The transplant surgery will take place at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, N.D. The Soldiers have served together in the National Guard for several years, including two deployments to Afghanistan, most recently in 2010.
