Matthew Fanning, commanding officer, Los Angeles-class, nuclear-powered, fast-attack submarine, USS Hartford (SSN 768) and his crew, Oct. 24, in Hartford, Connecticut, for their recent award of the Battenberg Cup, an award presented annually to the best all-around ship or submarine in the Atlantic Fleet. The crew visited their namesake city of Hartford to build community relations. Hartford is the second U.S. Navy ship to be named for the city of Hartford, Connecticut.
