Chief Master Sgt. Larry Williams, Air Mobility Command command chief, says a few words during the Airlift/Tanker Association Symposium in Grapevine, Texas, after Gen. Maryanne Miller, AMC commander, presented him with a farewell gift, Oct. 27, recognizing his leadership. "I have had a front row seat to mobility operations for 30 years and as I close out what has been simply an amazing journey, I have a distant but familiar feeling," Williams said. "I remember distinctly the emotions I had many years ago when my mother and sister dropped me off at the MEPS station. This feeling was because I was leaving my family. I once again have that feeling because I am leaving my family, my Air Force Family." A/TA, AMC's premier professional development event, provides mobility Airmen an opportunity to learn about and discuss mobility priorities, issues, challenges, and successes. The venue creates dialogue between industry experts and Air Force and Department of Defense about ways to innovate, enhance mission effects and advance readiness headed into the future.
