Staff Sgt. Demetrius McCowan, sheet metal aircraft structural mechanic with the 1106th Theater Aviation Support Maintenance Group, and a native of Fresno, Calif., holds the trophies he won Oct. 23 at the 2012 Best Warrior Competition award ceremony in the Liberty Theater at the Joint Forces Training Base in Los Alamitos, Calif. McCowan won the awards for NCO of the Year, weapons course for NCOs and the combatives tournament for NCOs held during Sept. 11-17 at Camp San Luis Obispo, Calif.
