A Swedish- Finnish battalion is taking part in the NATO exercise Trident Juncture 18. Before Trident Juncture 18, the battalion trained together at Älvdalens exercise area in Sweden. The Swedish soldier (in the back) is a professional soldier and the Finnish soldier (in the front) is a conscript.
Trident Juncture 2018 is NATO’s largest exercise in many years, bringing together around 50,000 personnel from all 29 Allies, plus partners Finland and Sweden. Around 65 vessels, 250 aircraft and 10,000 vehicles will participate.
