Maj. Kjell Mathisen, Norwegian Defense Logistics Organization/Marine Expeditionary Brigade, executive officer, proudly wears his Marine Corps Prepositioning Program in Norway patch at the Vaernes International Airport, Nov. 14. Marines from MFE and Norwegian soldiers with MCPP-N, would later load more than 28,000 pounds, comprised of 110 cold weather tents, space heaters and fuel cans to be flown to Erzurum, Turkey, to help provide shelter and warmth to more than 1,000 Turkish citizens left homeless by recent earthquakes. “For this joint partnership to be effective, it is important for us to be like a family. While we are normally closed on the weekends, to help the Turkish, we pulled the trigger and everyone was on deck to help,” added Mathisen.
