181103-N-NM435-0017 IWAKUNI, Japan (Nov. 3, 2018) Builder 3rd Class Joshua Kitchin, from Waterville, Maine, and assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 3, Det. Iwakuni, prepares to place formwork for concrete pads for a waste enclosure structure project to benefit family housing units onboard Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni. NMCB-3 is forward deployed to execute construction of multiple trash enclosures for Marine Base Iwakuni, Japan to assist in the ongoing expansion of the Marine/Naval base. NMCB-3 is forward deployed throughout the Indo-Pacific region and United States ready to support major combat operations, theater security, humanitarian assistance and disaster relief operations.
