Cpl. Steven Johnson, an assault climber with Weapons Company, Battalion Landing Team 1st Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, gears up prior to retrieving a downed pilot from a tree during a practice exercise for a Surface Tactical Recovery of Aircraft, Personnel and Equipment course aboard Camp Lejeune, N.C., Nov. 16, 2011. Johnson, a native of Jackson, Ohio, was one of about 70 Marines and sailors that participated in the week-long course which took place, Nov. 14-18. The course focused on training the Marines to conduct Surface TRAP missions for the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit using light armored vehicles and humvees for their upcoming deployment.
