Lt. Gen. Paul E. Funk, III Corps and Fort Hood commanding general, presented a coin for excellence to Pfc. Emilio Ramirez, a fueler assigned to the 289th Composite Supply Company, which is currently operating out of Weslaco, Texas Nov. 20. Ramirez was recommended by his platoon sergeant for the coin for the extra effort he put in setting up a fuel point at Base Camp Donna last week. The troops here are under U.S Northern Command, which is providing military support to the Department of Homeland Security and U.S. Customs and Border Protection to secure the southern border of the United States.
