Roughly 30 generators used to temporarily power critical public facilities, such as water wells, were tracked, downloaded and distributed by Guam Power Authority and Louis Berger Nov. 17 to Nov. 20, to areas impacted after Super Typhoon Yutu hit U.S. soil. Personnel from Honolulu District USACE partnering with Soldiers from Alpha Company 249th Engineer Battalion also provided technical assistance for temporary power generation at the Saipan Airport. The generators are rented by FEMA through a USACE temporary emergency power contract. The Commonwealth is working in partnership with FEMA, USACE, and many federal agencies and voluntary organizations to deliver aid to those affected by the disaster.
