The Alpha Company 249th Engineer Battalion working jointly with Guam Power Authority, Nov. 18, 2018 provided technical assistance for temporary power generation at the Saipan Airport. In addition they are conducting assessments for generator installations at critical facilities completing 103 installs and 23 de-installs. Honolulu District U.S. army Corps of Engineers alongside the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and Alpha Company 249th Engineer Battalion facilitated the arrival of almost 30 generators being used temporarily to power critical public facilities, such as water wells and will be distributed to areas impacted by Super Typhoon Yutu.
