David Mounkes, commander of the 123rd Airlift Wing, during a ceremony at the Kentucky Air National Guard Base in Louisville, Ky., Nov. 17, 2018. Busch distinguished himself for meritorious service with his participation in Operations Freedom’s Sentinel and Resolute Support. From February to May 2018, Busch served as a key senior tactical advisor for 17 ground combat operations, leading and coordinating 42 air-to-ground engagements while under enemy fire, directly resulting in 33 enemies killed in action.
