NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (Nov. 29, 2018) Machinist's Mate 1st Class Erick Sandoval, from Tucson, Arizona, assigned to USS Gerald R. Ford’s (CVN 78) weapons department, receives a Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal certificate from Cmdr. Joel Thompson, Ford’s gun boss, during a promotion ceremony in the ship’s weapons handling area. More than 125 Ford Sailors advanced from the Fall 2018 Navy-wide advancement exam.
