Masato Taura (right), Northern Army commanding general, presents U.S. Ambassador to Japan William Hagerty (left) with a group photo during a tour of Camp Higashi - Chitose, December 12, 2018. The purpose of Hagerty’s visit was to discuss exercise Yama Sakura 75 — an annual bilateral command post exercise involving the U.S. Military and the Japan Self-Defense Force — and view U.S. and Japanese combat readiness and interoperability.
