Recruits with Mike Company, 3rd Recruit Training Battalion, compete against one another during Pugil Sticks III at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, Dec. 12. The recruits receive a safety brief and protective gear prior to entering the pit. The Recruits implemented Marine Corps Martial Arts Program techniques throughout the Pugil Sticks III event. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego. Mike Company is scheduled to graduate Jan. 25.
