A recruit from Mike Company, 3rd Recruit Training Battalion, crawls under concertina wire during the Bayonet Assault Course at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, Dec. 12. The recruits were instructed to keep the barbed wire away from their faces by using their rifles and gloves. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego. Mike Company is scheduled to graduate Jan. 25.
