An MH-60S Sea Hawk helicopter assigned to the Wild Cards of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 23 prepares to land aboard the multi-purpose amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8) during a vertical replenishment with the Military Sealift Command fast combat support ship USNS Bridge (T-AOE 10). Makin Island, the Navy's newest amphibious assault ship and the only U.S. Navy ship with a hybrid electric propulsion system, is on its first operational deployment.
