Chief Aviation Support Equipment Technician Steve Parkinson, a member of the amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island’s (LHD 8) damage control training team, teaches hose handling techniques to sailors during a general quarters drill. Makin Island is on its maiden deployment conducting operations in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of responsibility in support of the Navy’s Maritime Strategy.
