    Arina Kotlyarskaya, Coast Guard in-service vessel sustainment program manager, Shane Kinman, master woodcarver, and Coast Guard Lt. Alissa Gavalian, contracting officer, inspect a sample of the material and carving methods to be used on the new figurehead for the Coast Guard Cutter Eagle aboard the Eagle at the Coast Guard Yard in Baltimore, Dec. 13, 2018. Kinman will be making the final product out of a fiberglass-resin compound gilded with gold leaf.
