The U.S. Army’s first 3D printer, operated by Soldiers assigned to 194th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 2nd Sustainment Brigade, 520th Support Maintenance Company, scans a plastic figurine as part of the Army’s efforts to field test this new technology, on Camp Humphreys, Republic of Korea, Oct. 29, 2018. 194th CSSB, 2nd SBDE, was chosen to field test the 3D printer because a support maintenance unit has a broader customer base than most other support units, and can therefore provide a wider variety of data.
