EAST CHINA SEA (Jan. 12, 2019) – The amphibious assault ship USS Wasp (LHD 1), Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force amphibious transport dock ship JS Kunisaki (LST 4003), and amphibious transport dock ship USS Green Bay (LPD 20) (right) transit in formation during a cooperative deployment. Wasp, flagship of Wasp Amphibious Ready Group, is operating in the Indo-Pacific region to enhance interoperability with partners and serve as a ready-response force for any type of contingency.
