D.J. Foster, a wide receiver from Scottsdale, Ariz., receives an Excellence in Leadership Award from Maj. Steven M. Ford, commanding officer, Recruiting Station Phoenix, during the Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl banquet, Jan. 1, 2012. Foster received the award in part for his selflessness as a teammate. Upon learning that he won an Arizona player of the year award, Foster turned it down because it was not a team award.
