Defensive back Donaldven Manning, a Miami native, receives an Excellence in Leadership Award from Maj. Steven M. Ford, commanding officer, Recruiting Station Phoenix. Manning received the award for the leadership he displayed back home, both on and off the field. In order to help his teammates graduate high school early and stay out of trouble during the summer, Manning attended summer school classes and encouraged them to attend with him.
