Airman 1st Class Lauren Cox, 41st Rescue Squadron (RQS) special missions aviator, loads ammunition into an M2 machine gun mount on an HH-60G Pave Hawk helicopter during routine training, Jan. 15, 2019, at Moody Air Force Base, Ga. To optimally perform their Combat Search and Rescue mission downrange, the 347th Rescue Group implemented the advanced training ‘hard crew’ system, which unifies the 38th and 41st RQS’s into separate rescue operator teams that’ll fly every mission together for their upcoming deployment. This concept establishes continuity and chemistry which will help maximize the 38th and 41st RQS’s mission readiness by simultaneously working together to build relationships and understand each other’s idiosyncrasies, strengths, and weaknesses to ultimately improve the team’s performance in mission execution.
