Gutierrez accepts the inaugural Captain Cheryl C. Ringer Memorial Award on behalf of the clinic’s staff. The award was presented by Rear Adm. Paul Pearigen, NMW commander and chief of the Navy Medical Corps, and Ms. Andrea Lapinski, the spouse of Capt. Ringer. The winning entry was a project to reduce weight-based medication errors led by NHCH’s Capt. Marlene Sanchez, chief medical officer, and Lt. Cmdr. Vince Deguzman, pharmacy department head.
