Lance Cpl. Jeffrey L. Cobra Gold 19 is a Thai-U.S. co-sponsored exercise that represents the longstanding friendship between the Thai and American people. Johnson, a native of Le Roy, Michigan and a field artillery cannoneer with Echo Battery, Battalion Landing Team, 1st Battalion, 4th Marines, graduated Pine River High School in May 2017 before enlisting in June later that year. The 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, the Marine Corps’ only continuously forward-deployed MEU, provides a flexible and lethal force ready to perform a wide range of military operations as the premier crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific region.
