190216-M-YD783-2051 ARABIAN SEA (Feb. 17, 2019) U.S. Marines with 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit’s combat cargo help offload freight from a MH-60S Seahawk on the flight deck of the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Kearsarge (LHD-3). Combat cargo Marines help facilitate the day-to-day on and off load of personnel, mail and cargo aboard the Kearsarge. Marines and Sailors with the 22nd MEU and Kearsarge Amphibious Ready Group are deployed to the 5th Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and the Pacific through the western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.
