Sgt. Mattheus D. Jonkman and Spc. Fernando Segura, both biomedical maintenance specialists, were named the 2019 Noncomissioned Officer and Soldier of the Year on Feb. 22, 2019, at Evans Army Community Hospital. Both competed in the four-day competition that included events such as an obstacle course, Army physical fitness test, Army warrior task lanes, written exam, hand-written essay, 12-mile ruck march and an oral board to be named best of the best, from Evans ACH. The two are now eligible to compete in the Regional Health Command-Central NCO and Soldier of the Year competition.
