190228-N-NH199-1037 SAN DIEGO (Feb. 28, 2019) Hospital Corpsman 3rd Class Jose Hernandezsantiago assists Hospital Corpsman 3rd Class Sydney Noriega, both Sailors assigned to Naval Medical Center San Diego (NMCSD), dawn personal protective equipment during a quarterly chemical decontamination (DECON) drill, at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Branch Health Clinic. DECON Drills prepare Sailors to respond to hazmat incidents or chemical contaminations, the drill gives sailors the opportunity for hands-on practice of DECON setup, procedures and tear down of equipment.
