    NAVAL AIR STATION NORTH ISLAND, Calif. (Feb. 25, 2019) Command Master Chief Lloyd Standford and Cmdr. Brannon Bickel, commanding officer of Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 41 greets Rear Adm. Alvin Holsey, Commander, Carrier Strike Group One, during an African American and Black History Month celebration at Naval Air Station North Island. The Navy joins the nation in celebrating the history of African American Sailors and civilians during African American/Black History Month, Feb. 1-28. The Navy encourages commands to participate in heritage celebrations and special observances throughout the year that honor the contributions, unique histories and cultures Navy's diverse Sailor and civilian team.
