Machine gunner Lance Cpl. Anthony Salvaggio fires a medium machine gun during live-fire training here Jan. 18. The Baton Rouge, La., native serves with Company L, Battalion Landing Team 3/1, the ground combat element of the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit. The unit is currently deployed as part of the Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group, a U.S. Central Command theater reserve force providing support for maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts here.
