190310-M-YD783-1050 GULF OF OMAN (March 10, 2019) U.S. Marine Staff Sgt. Oswaldo Valenzuela, a maintenance chief with the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit, prepares a container of battery fluid for usage during maintenance in the well deck of the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Kearsarge (LHD-3). Valenzuela used the fluid to fill Humvee batteries in preparation for an upcoming training exercise Marines and Sailors with the 22nd MEU and Kearsarge Amphibious Ready Group are deployed to the 5th Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and the Pacific through the western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.
