Contractors with Platt Construction of Tomah, Wis., continue work on the construction of a salt/sand storage facility March 6, 2019, at Fort McCoy, Wis. Platt Construction received a $555,000 contract to build the facility that will be 70 feet wide by 88 feet deep. The new facility will be capable of storing 2,000 tons of salt and 2,000 tons of sand with a partition between the two products. The facility is designed to prevent direct contact of the salt with precipitation or with run-off from rain or ice and snow melt.
