The 36th Engineer Brigade is training up for defense support of civil authorities (DSCA) as members of the Defense Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear Response Force (DCRF). The 36th Engineer Brigade comprises a portion of the 5,200-person DCRF with a mission to save lives, mitigate human suffering, and facilitate recovery operations in the event of a catastrophic Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) event in the United States. Joint Task force Civil Support provides command and control of the DCRF for a disaster response and is always in support of civil authorities. This training by the 36th Engineer Brigade is another effort to prepare for its upcoming DSCA mission beginning in June. (U.S. Army photo by 2nd Lt. Corey Maisch)
