Friends and family reunite with their Marines Feb. 2, 2012, on the Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point flight line. The Marines were part of a Marine Attack Squadron 231 detachment attached to the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit with six of the squadron's AV-8B Harriers. The detachment was at sea for more than 10 months, which is one of the longest MEU deployments since WWII, said Maj. Ben Hutchins, officer in charge for the VMA-231 detachment.
