U.S. Army Reserve Staff Sgt. Sandra Uptagrafft, 98th Training Division (Initial Entry Training), was awarded her Distinguished Pistol Shot Marksmanship Badge at the U.S. Army Small Arms Championships at Fort Benning, Georgia March 10-16, 2019.
Uptagrafft, a Phenix City, Alabama resident, already holds the International Distinguished Marksmanship Badge by competing in a number of international competitions, including the 2012 Olympics. Hence, earning the Distinguished Pistol Shot Badge at the All Army now makes her double distinguished.
The annual, week-long competition that is hosted by the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit is the Army's premier marksmanship competition that tests Soldiers on both their primary and secondary weapons through 11 different courses of fire.
