Chief Master Sgt. Shakeisha Perkins, 72nd Force Support Squadron superintendent, talks with Airmen in a relaxed setting at Bricktown Brewery, during Tinker Air Force Base's First Term Airmen Center downtown tour. Tinker has partnered with the Oklahoma City Convention & Visitors Bureau in an initiative to bring the military and civilian communities closer together in a unique program which began in Jan. 2019. The group of Airmen spend part of a day downtown where they rode the new OKC Streetcar, for free, while learning about important landmarks, attractions and even where free parking is located. The downtown tour has quickly become a welcome capstone to the FTAC curriculum and, over time, should help integrate the military members with the community faster and smoother.
