Steelworker 2nd Class Rejuny Caswell, a U.S. Navy Seabee assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB 23), embarked on High Speed Vessel (HSV-2) Swift, hammers a nail onto a window outside of an elementary school in Zona De Acapulco. NMCB 23 embarked aboard Swift is working with Peruvian combat engineers from Base Naval De Callao and Brigada Infanteria De Marina De Ancon. The Seabees and engineers will spend three weeks refurbishing schools in the area as a part of HSV-Southern Partnership Station 2012. HSV-SPS is an annual deployment of U.S. Navy ships and assets to the U.S. Southern Command's area of responsibility in the Caribbean, Central and South America. The exercise involves information sharing with Navies, Coast Guards and civilian services throughout the region.
