MEDITERRANEAN SEA (March 18, 2019) - Sailors participate in dry-fire, small-arms familiarization training aboard the Blue Ridge-class command and control ship USS Mount Whitney (LCC 20). Dry firing is the practice of aiming and squeezing the trigger of a firearm without ammunition. Mount Whitney, forward- deployed to Gaeta, Italy, operates with a combined crew of U.S. Navy Sailors and Military Sealift Command civil service mariners.
