Peruvian navy Cmdr. David Bernal, right, Liaison naval officer for High Speed Vessel (HSV-2) Swift and HSV-Southern Partnership Station 2012, and Chief Logistic Specialist Olivia Sturgeon, assigned to the Maritime Civil Affairs Team embarked on Swift, joke with Peruvian combat engineers on their lunch break at an elementary school in Zona De Acapulco. Bernal and Sturgeon were visiting the elementary school to support Seabees assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 23. The Seabees are working with Peruvian combat engineers from Base Naval De Callao and Brigada Infanteria De Marina De Ancon during HSV-Southern Partnership Station. Southern Partnership Station is an annual deployment of U.S. Navy ships and assets to the U.S. Southern Command area of responsibility in the Caribbean, Central and South America.
