"I went through MEPS about a month-and-a-half ago out of Houston for Satelite Communications Systems Technician in the Army. Partially wanted to get out of town and see more places than Texas for a few years. Family and friends brought me into reenacting. My dad, my uncle and one of my cousins are all Marines. The only thing they said whenever I floated the possibility of enlisting to all three of them was 'don't join the Marines.' Reenacting more or less lets me experience what they experienced 70 to 80 years ago and get to work with other older veterans.
I'm excited to go."
