NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (March 26, 2019) – Sailors on the in-port emergency team aboard the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS George Washington (CVN 73) fight a simulated class alpha fire during a drill in conjunction with Newport News Shipyard fire department. George Washington is undergoing refueling complex overhaul (RCOH) at Newport News Shipyard. RCOH is a four-year project performed once during an aircraft carriers life-cycle that includes refueling of the ship's two nuclear reactors, repairs, upgrades and modernization.
